Hotel facing the Terme Berzieri: how to plan a stay at QC Terme Salsomaggiore
本页面提供意大利语和英语版本。
The closest hotel to QC Terme Salsomaggiore is Hotel Casa Romagnosi, at Piazzale Berzieri 3: the Palazzo delle Terme Berzieri, which houses QC Terme, is across the square, less than a one-minute walk. This guide explains how to plan a spa stay without a car, what to book in advance and how to use your free time.
Where the Terme Berzieri are and what is inside
The Palazzo delle Terme Berzieri is the landmark of Salsomaggiore Terme: inaugurated in 1923, designed in Art Nouveau style and decorated by Galileo Chini, it stands in the historic centre of the town, on Piazzale Berzieri. Today it houses QC Terme Salsomaggiore, a wellness circuit with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, steam baths, whirlpools and relaxation rooms set in the historic halls.
Traditional thermal treatments with Salsomaggiore's salt-bromine-iodine waters (inhalations, mud therapy, balneotherapy) are carried out instead at the Terme Zoja, a few minutes' walk from the square, or at the Terme di Tabiano, five kilometres away, famous for their sulphurous waters.
Why choose a hotel opposite the spa
A spa stay works best when everything is within walking distance. Sleeping on Piazzale Berzieri means:
- reaching QC Terme in one minute, without looking for parking;
- going back to your room to rest between one entrance and the next;
- having dinner at the hotel or in the centre without taking the car;
- having breakfast on the terrace looking at the domes of the Palazzo.
Casa Romagnosi is the only hotel that looks directly onto the square: the building is the birthplace of the jurist Gian Domenico Romagnosi and has been a National Monument since 1909.
What to book in advance
The QC Terme entrance. Places are limited and at weekends, on long weekends and in December the days sell out: book on the official QC Terme website choosing your time slot. The hotel front desk can suggest the quietest dates.
The room. For a wellness stay we recommend the Superior rooms, larger and in some cases with whirlpool bath, complimentary bathrobes and breakfast served in the room. The Suites, with a separate living area, are the choice of families. Send an availability request from the Contacts page stating your dates and preference.
The restaurant. The hotel restaurant is open to non-guests in private dining rooms: at weekends it is worth booking a table.
A two-day programme
Day 1. Arrival in the early afternoon (check-in from 2:00 pm), a walk along Viale Romagnosi and the Art Nouveau centre, an aperitif at the hotel bar. Dinner with Parma cuisine: Food Valley cured meats, fresh pasta, Parmigiano Reggiano.
Day 2. Buffet breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 am, then the day at QC Terme, a one-minute walk away. Back at the hotel, rest in your room or a ride on the hotel's free bicycles to Parco Mazzini. Check-out by 11:00 am the next day, or a third day between Scipione Castle, Fidenza Village and Parma.
How to get here without a car
Train to Fidenza (Milan-Bologna line, also served by high-speed trains), then the local connection to Salsomaggiore Terme: the station is 900 metres from the hotel, a twelve-minute walk. By car: A1 exit Fidenza-Salsomaggiore Terme and ten kilometres of provincial road; access to Piazzale Berzieri is from Via Roma, inside the restricted traffic zone, with parking directions from the front desk.
All the details on distances are on the Location page; for your stay, the Hotel facing QC Terme page and the availability request form.
